pe-jota (click above) has just posted a marvelous pictorial biography of Ted Shawn. Including this picture which I've always loved but was never able to identify, until now:

Nor did I know he was a graduate of the University of Denver. Nice to know then, that he "demanded that (his dancers) be gentlemen in public, comport themselves with dignity, and never, ever show one touch of effeminacy."
